Detecting obesity level in four-to-five year old preschool children from traditional preschools belonging to Junji In the commune of Talca

Abstract

Body composition characteristics of four-to-five year old preschool children from Preschools belonging to JUNJI (National Board of Preschool Institutions) in the commune of Talca are presented in this study. Both IMC, and measurements of two skin folds as well as calves' circumference were used in the study. Results were calculated by utilizing an INTA-designed/validated formula for this age group. The main objective of this study was to verify if there are any differences between these ways of determining body composition of four-to-five year old children.
