Abstract
This article reviews the circumstances in which occurred the murder of the minister Diego Portales in June 1837 and questions the judiciary process that was carried out against its supposed authors. A new perspective on the facts, a study on the process against the rebels available at the national archives and an analysis about those who might have gained something with his death, allows us to question if it wasn’t the government itself who was behind his murder.
