Abstract

From a phenomenological perspective, the following research analyzes the school experiences of four students with high abilities from the Maule Region, belonging to the UCM Semilla Academic Talent Education Program. Three data collection instruments were applied to carry out this research, aimed at students and educational agents. The results show the lack of inclusive policies in the education system for students with high abilities and/or academic talent, which results in a competitive classroom environment and an environment unsuitable for comprehensive development. These aspects contrast with the experiences collected in the UCM Semilla Program, where innovative methodologies are applied and positive relationships with teachers and classmates are fostered.
