“Religion Teacher Training: The question of the object of study of Religious Education School”

Abstract
This article arises in the context of the curricular renewal process of the Pedagogy Career in Religion, offered by the Institute of Theological Studies from Catholic University of Temuco. Emerge, within the main findings, the questioning by the object of study of Catholic School Religious Education, and the urgent need for actions that lead to the redefinition of the same, in recognition and welcome multicultural and multireligious reality of the south macro-region of the country. Additionally the orientations of the ecclesial magisterium and education, it proved necessary to consider the latest religion trends exerted by religion teachers that favoring the spiritual dimension of children and young and the significant learning of the substance of the Christian proposal in dialogue whit the world. The redefinition of the subject matter directly affects the formation of teachers of religion, faced with the challenge of moving to an education of faith centered in life itself from the practical theology.
