Gross motor development level in NB2 students from Talcahuano, 8th region - Chile

Abstract
The research aims at determining whether NB2 students from Talcahuano who were objects of intervention by Physical education professionals show a level of gross motor development, according to their age or aboye their chronological age. The type of investigation was quantitative of descriptive design non-experimental transecctional. The sample was non probabilistic with a total of 145 NB2 students from Talcahuano country, Chile. These students were subjected to Ulrich's gross motor development test (2000). From the data collected, it was found that the level of gross motor development of the students surveyed stood at 1,4% over the age; 33,1% at the age, 22,8% under the age; 25,5% poor, while the motor quotient presented 17,2% in the very poor category. Based on the results, one can conclude that the level of gross motor development expected for the age is mostly to be found in the categories of under age, poor, and very poor.
