Abstract
The aim of this research is to propose a statistical model to predict the psychomotor development score in 4 - 5 year old children depending on their socioeconomic status. In designing the model, the battery TEPSI was applied to evaluate the psychomotor development of a group of individuals. In addition, parents and guardians were surveyed by means of socio-demographic survey to determine the socioeconomic status. The results indicated that the educational level of the head of household and the per capita income significantly correlated with psychomotor development; the administrative unit does not correlate. It is informed that three models were designed. The first model allows to predict a 4,2% of the psychomotor development scores on the basis of the per capita income variable. The second model is able to predict 11% of the score of language based on the per capita income variable. Finally, the third model, with low predictive value (2,2%), allows to predict the coordination score depending on the educational level of the head of the household.
