Characterization of quality of life and resilience in a sample of senior of Curicó city

Abstract

In a study of a quantitative nature a description of the variables Quality of Life and Resilience was implementad. The data was collected from a sample of 82 senior citizens by means of a Quality of Life Scale for the former variable and an SV-RES questionnaire for the laten A description of the subjects was made taking into consideration the marital status, the living conditions and the persons with whom they share the place where they live; along with the establishment of the level of correlation among the variables previously mentioned. The results suggest the existence of a relationship between the variables Quality of Life and Resilience of the elderly. A validation of the Quality of Life scale was performed resulting in a high reliability and validity of the instrument. The study was conducted in two groups of senior citizens from the Curicó district, Chile.
