Abstract

The objectives of this study were to describe the anthropometric features of male canoeing athletes who belong to the Government Program of the Centro de Entrenamiento Regional (CER) of the Maule region and to compare their somatotype, proportionality and body composición with elite athletes. Twenty-eight male athletes (P = 67.860 ± 11.010 kg, T = 168.5 ± 4.86 cm, E = 16.5 ± 1.58 years) were assessed using a battery of 26 anthropometric measurements. Data are collected for establishing a regional parameter for the detection of future potential sporting talents and monitoring the progress of training.
